Zoella Beauty | Blogtober Day 16

One of my all time favourite youtubers, Zoe Sugg aka Zoella, has brought out a beauty range called Zoella Beauty - well done Zoe! Walking into Superdrug the other day and noticing Zoe's products on the shelf there was so bizarre after watching her on youtube for so many years and then seeing her face in a store was just mesmerizing. Zoe has done so well for herself and Zoella Beauty looks amazing!

This was Zoe's shelf in the Superdrug I went into (Liverpool One). The collection holds two make up bags, a fizz bar, blissful mistful fragranced body mist, let's glow candle, soak opera bath soak/shower cream and creamy madly dreamy body lotion. All of the products are reasonably priced - everything is £5 apart from the make up bags and the blissful mistful fragranced body mist which are priced at £8.

The make up bags as you can see in the photo above are adorable - the green/blue one with Zoe's eyes and the pink one with a guinea pig. The fizz bar (200g) is shaped like a bar of chocolate and is actually in separate chunks (8 in total) so you don't have to use it all at once (the Superdrug website recommends 1-2 chunks per bath so you can get between 4 and 8 baths from this!). Blissful mistful fragranced body mist comes in a 45ml glass bottle and the scent actually reminded me a little bit of MAC's Turquatic perfume. The website states that the scent includes a mix of fruity and floral notes. Let's glow candle comes in a silver tin with a lid and contains white wood accents, sweet vanilla and soft floral notes within it's scent. Soak opera bath soak/shower cream comes in a 490ml bottle and contains soothing floral notes. This product also contains vitamin E, aloe and shea butter extracts. And lastly, creamy madly dreamy body lotion. This product comes in a 160ml bottle/tube and also contains vitamin E, aloe and shea butter extracts - I'm guessing in the same scent as soak opera although sadly they were both sealed in the shop so I couldn't get a whiff :(

I would be so proud of myself if I was Zoe and had achieved all that she had from making videos in her bedroom. The collection looks absolutely amazing and I can't wait to pick up a few things on my next Superdrug trip - I love the look of the make up bags and the fragrance smells incredible.

Congratulations Zoe!

Lush Haul | Blogtober Day 7

Around this time of year, Lush definitely becomes one of my favourite shops. Don't get me wrong, I love Lush all year round, however I just find that during autumn and winter I have a lot more baths. So as Lush released all of their Halloween and Christmas products, I was drawn in and found myself with a rather full basket. I also prefer the more festive, Christmassy scents rather than the summery and sweet scents. So I'll start with the couple of Halloween things I purchased and then share my Christmas ones.

Sparkly Pumpkin Bubble Bar: £3.50

The label reads: A warming and cheerful bubble bar to add sparkle to cold nights...

I'm probably going to say this about every product I bought, but this smells amazing. It is a bubble bar so you will get more than one bath out of this pumpkin and it will turn your bath water orange. It is covered in orange glitter so it may leave you with a sparkle on you so if you don't like that then this might not be the one for you. The sparkly pumpkin contains juniperberry, lime and grapefruit oils so will leave your skin feeling lovely.

Northern Lights Bath Bomb: £3.50
The label reads: This sparkling, colourful bomb turns your water into a night time spectacle.

Northern lights is a bath bomb and is literally so surprising. When I was in the shop, my friend picked it up to smell and one of the lovely sales assistants asked us if we would like to see it in action – incredible. It has lots of different colours inside it so don’t be deceived by just a purple exterior. Containing jasmine and ylang ylang, this bomb will turn your bath into a firework filled sky – including stars within the bomb as well.

Golden Wonder Bath Bomb: £3.75
The label reads: Run yourself the perfect temperature bath, get in, and then take a moment to let go of the world outside your bathroom, before launching your ballistic into the water and watch it fizz away.

Golden wonder is one of my all-time favourite bath bombs from Lush and I always make sure to grab a few every time they are re-released. Golden wonder is absolutely huge and shaped like a gold and white present. When you shake the bomb, you will hear it rattle and when you drop it in the water it will turn your water a bright blue colour, releasing three miniature bombs inside of different colours and an array of golden stars. The scent of this product is quite citrusy, containing orange, lime and cognac oils leaving you feeling relaxed and smelling amazing.

Christmas Eve Bubble Bar: £2.95
The label reads: Crumble the bar under the hot running tap, to allow the water to agitate mounds of bubbles for you with no effort on your part.

Christmas eve bubble bar is another favourite of mine from last years’ collection when I first tried it. As the label says, you just break some off and crumble it under running water – you don’t need much of the bubble bar product so you can get more than one bath out of them all the time. This product is very calming and will send your water a greeny colour. The bar contains Irish moss powder which will turn your water all silky also containing jasmine and ylang ylang essential oil.

The Christmas Penguin: £2.95
The label reads: Orange flower absolute and mandarin oil make this bubbly little chap a real pick-me-up.

A new product for me to try as I missed out on this little guy last year. Isn’t he just the cutest thing you have ever seen? Another bubble bar so crumble him under your running water to create lots of bubbles containing orange flower absolute, Sicilian mandarin and lemon oils which will revive and refresh your skin.

Dashing Santa: £2.95
The label reads: The citrus essential oils in this satsuma-scented bath bomb will put a spring in your step.

A new product for 2014 containing mandarin oil, bergamot oil and orange flower absolute, this Satsuma scented bath bomb will send your water a gorgeous pinky-orange-red colour – perfect for a nice relaxing bath. I’m really excited to try this one. I usually buy the father Christmas bath bomb, but I find that he can be a bit messy! He also smells incredible.

Cinders Bath Bomb: £2.50
The label reads: Warm up this bath bomb's hot fruit punch fragrance and listen to the crackle of popping candy.

This is my absolute favourite scent ever – pure Christmas. This cute little bath bomb contains vegan popping candy and stimulation cinnamon leaf oil. Cinders sends your bath water a yellowy-orange colour and smells absolutely incredible. When you drop your bath bomb in, be sure to listen carefully to hear the popping candy crackle just like you’re fireside on a winters’ night.

So White Bath Bomb: £3.50
The label reads: Run yourself the perfect temperature bath, the through your white snowball ballistic at the side of your bath to watch it shatter and erupt in fizzing colour.

So white – another favourite. This bath bomb may not look amazing from the outside, but smell it and you won’t be able to resist. So white is apple scented and contains bergamot oil, rose absolute, neroli oil and orange flower absolute. This bomb will smell your whole bathroom out with the gorgeous scent of apples, whilst fizzing away to the pink core, turning your water a delicate pink. So white also has a friend this year - the so white shower gel with the same scent... I can't wait to get my hands on it!

Shoot For The Stars Bath Bomb: £3.50
The label reads: Paint the swirling colours of the night skies over the surface of your bath.

Again, not the most exciting bath bomb to look at, however this bomb will turn your water multicoloured with its explosion of colour. Shoot for the stars will also leave a trail of silver, according to the website. The bomb contains the same scent as the classic soap, honey I washed the kids, leaving your water eventually a midnight, shimmering blue.

Butterbear Bath Bomb: £1.95
The label reads: A creamy vanilla-scented bath bomb with cocoa butter to soften the skin.

This little bear is so, so cute I couldn't resist. Butterbear contains the same scent as the butterball bath bomb, however it is shaped into a cute little bear. I don't think that this little guy is going to do much to the colour of the water as such, but as the cheapest bath bomb released for Christmas, he is cheap and cheerful, smells amazing and perfect for all ages.

Yog Nog Soap: £3.40 per 100g
The label reads: A creamy skin drink of soap made with soya yoghurt and a fudgy blend of festive spices.

Yog nog, the most delicious smelling soap ever, contains soya yoghurt and some festive spices to release a beautiful Christmassy scent. Also containing a fudgy blend of clove bud and ylang ylang essential oils, dusted with cocoa powder and very soft, you will feel and smell all festive after lathering up with this spicy little soap.

I hope you liked my halloweeny-festive Lush haul. I am in absolute awe of the products this year and already can't wait to get back in the Lush shop. I will be sure to do another haul if I manage to pick up any of the other products not mentioned from the Christmas collection, but you can buy all the products mentioned at www.lush.co.uk or in store now.

What is your favourite Lush Christmas product?

A Day Out in Liverpool with KissAndMakeup28!

One of my oldest friends, Leigh-Ann, came down to stay with me at university in Liverpool on the 7th of March to the 9th of March. We went into the town centre on the Saturday morning and headed over to, now one of my favourite places EVER, Central Perk!! I had never been here before, but friends of mine had, and it is a replica coffee house off the Friends TV show. As a MASSIVE Friends fan, I was very excited to go.

Outside of Central Perk

Central Perk Sign

Inside the coffee house

My delicious hot chocolate with marshmallows and whipped cream! Yummy!

Up on the wall signed by the stars of the Friends TV show

Enjoying my hot chocolate on the Friends sofa whilst watching the show on the TV in front!

Me and Leigh on our way out

I wasn't expecting Central Perk to look as similar to Friends as it did, but it was literally amazing. They had the famous orange sofa in front of a big TV playing Friends all day long. Even little touches, such as the 'service' sign pointing to the counter, made it feel even more like Friends. The food and drink were both incredibly tasty and the staff were so nice and friendly. I loved it there and will definitely be going back very soon!

After leaving Central Perk, we took a look inside the World Museum which was home to five floors - aquarium, bug house, dinosaurs, ancient Egypt and Space. I enjoyed my time in here, although found some of it to be quite boring. I felt like the building was humongous and there wasn't that much to look at on each floor, so I don't think I will be going back to this museum!

Then, we headed down to Liverpool One shopping centre and had a look round the shops. A few purchases were made, but not too many, however there will be a mini haul to follow. I had a really good weekend and enjoyed every second of it with Leigh!

If you haven't already checked out Leigh's blog, I will leave a link at the end of the post, so make sure you head over.

I hope you enjoyed this post.

How Much Is My Face Worth? TAG.

I was having a nosey round on YouTube today and spotted a tag video which was called how much is my face worth. I watched the video and found it quite interesting. Basically, you add up the prices of all the products you use on your face on a daily basis and that is how much your face is worth. Watching these videos made me quite interested to see how much my face is worth... so here goes.

(please excuse the bad photo. i have lost my camera and the lighting was really bad!!)

MAC Studio Fix Fluid (NC25): £21.50
Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer (Light 2): £4.19
MAC Studio Finish Concealer (NC15): £15.00
Rimmel Stay Matte Powder (Translucent): £3.99
MAC Limited Edition Snowglobe Eyeshadow Palette (dark brown for eyebrows and crease): £30.00
Urban Decay Primer Potion (original): £16.00
Urban Decay Naked Palette (sin): £37.00
Collection Extreme Felt Tip Liner (black): £2.99
Barry M Kohl Pencil Liner (black): £2.99
Maybelline The Falsies Mascara (black): £7.99
NARS Bronzer (laguna): £27.00
MAC Powder Blush (fleur power): £18.00
MAC Mineralize Skinfinish (soft and gentle): £22.00
MAC Lipstick (plumful): £15.00
MAC Fix+: £14.50

MY FACE IS WORTH: £238.15

Wow. After adding that up I am very surprised. I didn't think that the price would be as much as it is. I thought it would have come to around the £150 mark, but it went way past (oops, haha). This is genuinely my everyday make up that I use and after seeing the price I feel very privileged to be able to have this make up and am in no way bragging at all (usual blogger/youtuber disclaimer).

I hope that you enjoyed this post and add up how much your face is worth.
I am going to tag my friend Leigh-Ann to do this tag to see how much her face is worth, so make sure you go over and check her blog out - http://kissandmakeup28.blogspot.co.uk/

The Mother of All Hot Pink Lipsticks

I can't believe how fast this year is going and that it's nearly the end of February already! However, this means that Spring and Summer are on their way equalling in bright lips and pastel nails - which I love both. To get into the Spring/Summer spirit, I whipped out one of my favourite MAC lipsticks today that had been pushed to the back of the drawer for some time. I'm sure you'll of all heard of MAC Girl About Town?? Well, yep. That's the one.

The colour is a blue based fuchsia, so it makes your teeth look very white when wearing it. It is an amplified finish and is also quite creamy. The lipstick is a opaque colour and will last a very long time before it is needed to be reapplied. I love this colour and it's making me very excited for Summer to be here!

I hope you enjoyed this post. What's your favourite MAC lipstick for Summer?

Rita Ora for Rimmel

As you may have already heard, Rita Ora has worked with Rimmel and is releasing some items to Rimmel's Collection. If you don't know who Rita Ora is, she is a singer and the products she will be bringing out are 12 nail polishes and 5 colour rush balms.

The nail polish collection consists of 12 shades ranging from white to a very dark almost-black red. They are also in the 60 seconds range of Rimmel's nail polishes, which I am a fan of, which means they dry quickly. Often with the 60 seconds nail polishes from Rimmel, they are very pigmented and can sometimes only need one coat which is always a plus!

Rimmel already have some colour rush balms out with their permanent collection, however five more shades are being added in Rita Ora's collection. All the shades are very bright, pink and girly. These are similar to the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains and are very pigmented, moisturising, creamy and have a very nice finish( they also smell of vanilla, yum). I think that despite the fact that Rimmel were one of the last brands to jump on the bandwagon with the balm stains, they have produced one of the best.

Rita Ora for Rimmel will be available as of March 19th 2014 and priced at £3.69 for the nail polishes and £6.99 for the balms.

Hope you enjoyed this post - I can't wait to get my hands on a few of the products.

Valentine's Day Make-Up!

So, seen as it is Valentine's Day tomorrow, I thought I would do some Valentine's Day make up. Since it's Valentine's themed, it's very pinky, so I hope you like it!

The finished look

Products used:
Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation in 200 Soft Beige
Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in Light 2
Rimmel Stay Matte Powder in Translucent
MAC Snowglobe Eye Shadow Palette (just the dark brown)
Urban Decay Primer Potion Original
Maybelline Color Tattoo in Pink Gold
BarryM Kohl Pencil Liner in Black
Collection Extreme 24 Hour Felt Tip Liner in Black
Yves Saint Laurent Shocking Mascara in Black
NARS Bronzer in Laguna
MAC Blush in Fleur Power
MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Soft & Gentle
Rimmel Vinyl Jelly Gloss Lip Liner in 001 Moreish

The finished look using Instagram filter Lo-Fi

I applied my foundation all over my face with the Real Techniques buffing brush and then went in with my concealer under my eyes, round my nose and on any blemishes using the Real Techniques deluxe crease brush. I then powdered my face using the MAC 134. I applied primer to my eyelids whilst I filled my eye brows in with the snowglobe palette and a MAC 266. I then used my finger to apply the color tattoo and darkened my crease with the same colour on my eye brows using a MAC 217. I then finished off my eyes by tightlining, adding winged liner and mascara. I then contoured my face and added blush with a Real Techniques blush brush and added highlighter with a Real Techniques contour brush. To finish the look I used the Rimmel lip liner all over my lips as it is a glossy liner and I ended up with the look above.

I hope you enjoyed this post.

Mermaid Eyes

I was so late on the bandwagon with the 120 colour palette, but a couple of months ago I finally got round to getting one. After playing around with the colours a little bit and testing them to see the colour pay off, I was really pleased with it to say that it was so cheap off eBay!

120 colour palette off eBay £6.45

I played around for a few days with my palette and eventually ended up with this look. I'm not really one to wear colour eye shadows (I'm more of a neutrals girl, that's probably why it took me so long to pick the palette up) and it will probably take me a while to feel comfortable wearing colours I think, but I really like this eye.
The finished look using the Instagram filter Brannan (Instagram: emmamaxwell)

This is literally the total opposite look than what I would normally go for, but I think it turned out pretty well to say I was only experimenting! The colours I used are circled below:

The second blue shade in used all over the lid. The one on the far right in the crease and the one on the left used to brighten up and add a bit of shimmer to the lid once blended.

First off, I primed my eye lids with Urban Decay Primer Potion, as always, and applied the three eye shadows and blended them. I then added the colour below the lashes as well as adding a highlight in the inner corner. I used BarryM Kohl Pencil on my tightline, Collection Extreme 24 Hour Felt Tip Liner to do my winged liner and finished off with Maybelline The Falsies Black Drama mascara. I think this palette is great for creative looks or parties where your make up needs to be really out there!

Have you tried out the 120 palette? What is your favourite look to do using it?
I hope you enjoyed this post.

L'Oreal Paris 3 in 1 Purifying Micellar Solution Review

Getting hold of the hyped-up blogger-crazy Bioderma solution has been a struggle for me as I haven't been anywhere that sells it since everybody has been going crazy for it. So, when L'Oreal came out with their micellar solution, which is supposed to be like Bioderma, and everybody started blogging and YouTubing about it, I definitely wanted to get my hands on a bottle.

Starting off with the packaging, I really like it. I think it is quite simple with the clear bottle, which is plastic, and the white top with a hint of girly pink where the writing is placed.

I wanted to try this product out for a few days before writing about and I think I am now ready to give my opinion, so here goes...

I am literally SOO impressed with it. I have nothing to compare it to, due to me not trying out Bioderma before, but I am really happy with this L'Oreal version.

The solution claims to: 1. dissolve make-up. 2. unclog pores and remove impurities. 3. tone and sooth

I agree with everything it says on the bottle. I feel that it removes your make-up with ease. I just apply some of the solution to a cotton pad and wipe my make-up away. This product is also suitable for sensitive skin. I have combination skin and find it great.

The product is suitable for face, eyes and lips, so I have been using this all over my face and have seriously loved it. I heard rumours about it leaving a slightly oily residue on the skin, so I was a bit wary about buying it, but I am so glad that I did because I haven't had any problem at all with an oily residue and find that it leaves my skin feeling lovely and clean (and soft!).

The L'Oreal Micellar Solution is available at drugstores such as Boots (£3.33) and Superdrug (£3.32). I definitely recommend this product and I will definitely be repurchasing another bottle when mine runs out. And on the plus side it's so cheap!

Have any of you tried this product? Do you like it?
Hope you enjoyed this post.

Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation First Impressions

So, today I thought I would do a first impressions post about the Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation.

I went out shopping yesterday and picked this foundation up along the way as I had ran out of my MAC Studio Fix Fluid that morning. I will definitely be repurchasing my MAC foundation as it is my favourite and I always end up going back to it, but I like to try others in-between. I have tried the Rimmel Wake Me Up and I do enjoy it, but it can sometimes be a bit too glowy for me.

No make up

Foundation applied

I would say that this foundation has a medium coverage but is buildable if you would like to go for a more full coverage. I like the finish of this foundation a lot better than the Wake Me Up as it is the perfect inbetween matte and glowy finish. The foundation is quite a runny liquid and I used my Real Techniques Buffing Brush to apply it and I was really pleased with how the foundation looked.

Full face applied

As this was the first day, I wanted to test how long it stayed on for before I needed to touch it up. I didn't have this make up on all day (I had it on for around 7 hours) but the staying power was amazing to me. After the 7 hours had passed, it still looked as though I had just applied it and I was really pleased with how it looked.

After 7 hours of wear

All in all, I think that this foundation has worked really well for me. My skin is combination. I have some patched which go a bit oily and I also have dry patches around my nose and forehead. I didn't find this foundation to be drying on my skin, I found it nice to wear and I liked the finish of it a lot. Nice one, Rimmel!

The packaging of the bottle I also really like. The bottle is glass which I really like. A lot of drugstore foundations can be in plastic bottles, so I really like how it is a glass bottle. The lid is blue as well as some of the writing which I also don't mind. I love the fact that the foundation comes with a pump as it is easier to get the right amount out of the bottle. The foundation comes in a 30ml bottle with SPF 18.

Products used:
Face:
Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation in shade 200 Soft Beige
Collection Lasting Perfection 16 hour wear concealer in Light 2
Korres Multivitamin Compact Powder in MVP5
Nars Bronzer in Laguna
Mac Blush in Fleur Power
Mac Mineralize Skin Finish in Soft and Gentle

Eyes, Brows and Lips:
Urban Decay Primer Potion
Urban Decay Naked Palette - Sin (all over lid colour)
Mac Snowglobe palette from Christmas Collection - Dark brown (crease colour)
Collection Extreme 24 hour felt tip liner in Black
Barry M Kohl Pencil in Black (tightline)
Yves Saint Laurent Shocking Mascara in Black
Laval Eyebrow Pencil in Blonde (I know I'm not blonde, but the other pencils were too dark)
Maybelline Colour Sensational lipstick in 170 Darling Pink

Hope you enjoyed this post.
Have you tried this foundation? What do you think?

The Disney Tag!

This is another non-beauty related post, but don't worry because the next post is coming soon and is beauty (yayyyy). So, because I am a HUGE Disney fan, I thought I would do the Disney tag that I've seen a lot on YouTube again, but I don't have a YouTube. So let's just get stuck in!

1. Which Disney scene do you wish you could experience?
I love the little mermaid so much and it's not really a scene, but I'd like to experience being a mermaid cause I'm so afraid of the sea, it might help!

2. The first time you went to Disney?
The first time I went to Disney World in Florida I was 7 years old and I went with my mum, my dad and my older brother, Joey.

3. Your most unforgettable moment at the parks?
I think the most unforgettable moment you can have at Disney is the first time you ever walk into Magic Kingdom and also when you make it to the castle and see it for the first time.

4. A non Disney song that reminds you of the parks?
I'm not too sure on this one. It's mostly just Disney songs and songs played in the parks which remind me of them.

5. The character that you would want to be your best friend?
It would have to be Belle - of course!

6. What's the first Disney film that you remember watching?
Either Bambi or Lady and the Tramp. I don't know which I watched first, but it was definitely one of these two with my Dad.

7. Favourite Disney princess?
Belle and Ariel - don't make me choose!

8. What is one of the scenes in a Disney film that makes you cry?
There's probably one in every film! It's going to have to be the classic moment when Mufasa dies in The Lion King - so sad!

9. What is the Disney film that will make you feel better when you're feeling down or poorly?
I think The Little Mermaid as I find the songs very cheery and I think the film is amazing.

10. What is your favourite Disney film?
I can't choose just one. Beauty and the Beast or The Little Mermaid.

Okay, so thanks for reading guys! I know it wasn't a beauty related post but I love Disney and just thought this tag looked really fun!
Hope you enjoyed this post.

L'Oréal Color Riche Collection Priveé

Today, I am going to talk about the new-ish L'Oreal Color Riche Collection Privee. I'm not too sure when the collection was released, but I am only starting to hear things about the collection recently.

This collection is all nudes and are themed on a certain celebrity. The lipstick collection contains six lipsticks (I've heard there is 8 available is some places/countries, but I'm not too sure where) and the packaging is rubberised black with gold detailing. I love the packaging and think that it makes the product look more expensive that what it actually is.

Top left to right: Cheryl, Doutzen, Eva. Bottom left to right: Freida, Julianne, Liya.

The collection is supposed to offer a nude lipstick for every skin tone, which I like as most of the time in drugstore lipstick collections, there a multiple shades of different colours but usually only one nude which they expect to suit every skin tone.

Cheryl is an English recording actress and television personality and her shade is called 'Barely Greige' and is a good shade of nude for brunette-haired people. Doutzen Kroes is a Dutch model/actress and Victoria's Secret Angel. Doutzen's shade of nude is named 'Barely Pink' and explained by the name, has a hint of pink in this nude. Eva Longoria is an American actress. Eva's shade is called 'Barely Golden' and is suited for peach toned skin. Freida Pinto is an Indian actress/model and her shade is called 'Barely Parma' and contains a tint of mauve. Julianne Moore is an English-American actress and her shade is called 'Barely Peach'. Liya is an Ethiopian model and her lipstick shade is called 'Ebony Elegance' and is suited for people with a darker skin tone.

All of the lipsticks are quite sheer and have a glossy finish. I like the fact that the lipsticks are quite sheer, as I find that if a nude lipstick is too pigmented, it doesn't look as nice as it would if it was toned down a bit. I haven't yet tried out any of these lipsticks, but I am VERY excited to get my hands on a couple of them (I like Cheryl's colour and Julianne's colour) when I next venture onto a shopping trip. The only negative point I have read about the lipsticks is that they have a very distinctive smell. I have heard that they have quite an 'old lady' smell and that the scent is quite strong. I haven't managed to get a whiff of one yet, but if you don't mind lipsticks smelling strongly then I'm sure that you'll definitely love them!

The lipsticks are currently available in the UK at Boots and Superdrug for £8.19 and Canada for $10.99 in drugstores and L'Oreal stockists. The lipsticks are currently unavailable in the USA, however they are available on www.feelunique.com for £8.16 and the website also has free worldwide shipping!

I hope that you enjoyed this post and want to try out these lipsticks as much as I do!
