Feeling Festive...

Is anybody else feeling really festive this year? Because I definitely am...

First up, I will apologise for not finishing Blogtober. I lasted until day 24 (which was better than I ever thought I'd do!) but I unfortunately did fail miserably a week before it ended. But I am back now!!

I don't know what it is this year, but I am feeling festive like no other this year. I always get into the Christmas spirit very early, but this year I literally cannot wait. I love everything to do with the autumn/winter seasons especially Christmas. Another reason why I think I love Christmas is because I am away from home at university so I know as soon as I finish this term, I am home for three weeks with my family and friends having lots of fun and happy times! I am excited to start my Yankee Candle advent calendar this year too, because I have only ever had the chocolate advent calendars (Cadbury’s wins every time), so that is something else new to look forward to! I can’t wait to go Christmas shopping, to the Christmas markets, ice skating, hot chocolates and candle lit lush baths all the time. My heaven! I love spending time with the family over Christmas when everyone is together. Putting the Christmas decorations up, winter walks with my dog and big scarves. I currently have my Yankee Candle in Christmas Cookie burning also!

I hope you are all looking forward to the Christmas season and maybe even getting excited already like me too! I’m going to go and watch The Holiday now – one of my favourites for this time of year!

Lots of love, Em x

Sick Day | Blogtober Day 12

Guys I'm ill! I'm so gutted. I started to feel it a little the day before yesterday but then yesterday got a little worse and now I am literally not wanting to move anywhere. Autumn and winter are my favourite times of the year, but I hate the colds that come with it! I've now enjoyed moving into my house, getting back to uni and shopping so now I am in bed typing this post up with the flu. Great. I feel so weak and ill and tired so I am going to be having a few early nights in the next few days. And no matter how old I get, when I'm poorly I will always miss being at home with my mum looking after me and my dog giving me cuddles all day... but I'm at uni so not this time, Em!

Because of me being ill today, I haven't done much. Literally had to drag myself to the restaurant for dinner with my friends today but as soon as we were back I crawled back into bed like a little sloth haha. So I thought to myself about today's post and just thought I would do a little list of things that I do on days when I am sick:

- Lazy days in bed
- Disney movies
- Tasty snacks and feel good food
- Long baths
-Sleeping (not just when I'm ill haha)
- Candles
- Hot water bottles

Is there anything that you always do when you're sick?

Autumn | Blogtober Day 6

Autumn... where do I begin? Such a gorgeous season. I thought I would share with you some of the things I absolutely love about Autumn.

I love it when the leaves start to fall off the trees once they have turned the orangey-brown colour and crunch under your shoes. When you can take long, hot, relaxing baths every night with a different festive scented bomb thrown in. Drinking hot chocolates every chance you get because let's face it, nothing beats a good hot chocolate when you're cosied up on the couch when the dark night has fallen. Wrapping up and putting layers on - a must. Shopping around when all the shops have got their autumnal collection in with all the jumpers, coats, hats and scarves. Lots of candles lit for a nice cosy feeling. Carving pumpkins and putting your little tea lights inside for a glow on the fireplace. Getting far too excited for the Christmas season approaching meaning Christmas shopping, Christmas markets and ice skating.

I could literally go on forever about the things I love about this time of year, but we would be here a very long time and I am too excited to run myself a bath and jump in with one of my Lush bath bombs - haul coming tomorrow.

Is there anything you love about the autumn season that you are already doing or can't wait for>

Yankee Candle Event | Blogtober Day 4

As I mentioned in my 'things to look forward to' post, I attended an event at my local Yankee Candle shop for the launch of their Christmas collection. Christmas scents are my favourite kind of smells so I was definitely on board and very excited. When we arrived, the place was packed out and they had little goodies on a table for people to eat and were going round offering glasses of wine which was lovely. I did manage to pick up a few things so I thought I would share them with you.

First of all, my favourite candle of all time - Christmas Eve. To me, this scent is just the typical Christmassy scent and is amazing. Instead of attempting to describe the scents to you myself, I am going to insert the description of the candles from the Yankee Candle website.

"Traditional Christmas scents of a warm hearth, sugared plums, and candied fruits."

Secondly, I grabbed another large candle in the scent Christmas Cookie. This to me smells of cake and cookies and all good things like that - even if I don't see the Christmassy side to this candle, the picture and name of the candle is good enough!

"Buttery rich, vanilla scented, holiday sugar cookies."

I then fell in love with another scent in the shop called Merry Marshmallow, however the lady in the shop said that that particular scent was being discontinued and all they had left was the end! Gutted! They had none of the jar candles in this scent, just the votive sized ones - so I thought it felt necessary to purchase four.
As the scent has been discontinued, it is no longer listed on the Yankee website for a scent description - but trust me, it smells amazing.

I then purchased an advent calendar which I am really excited about! I have only ever had the traditional chocolate advent calendars and dreamt about the beauty ones last year as I have got more and more into beauty, but when I saw the Yankee advent calendars I couldn't leave the shop without taking one with me! I went for the house shaped one and it contains the scents; Candy Cane Lane, Christmas Garland, Christmas Cookie, Sugared Apple, Christmas Memories, Spiced Orange, Snowflake Cookie and Christmas Eve. I now can't wait for December first to get started! (too early, Emma, too early).

Lastly, they were giving out little goody bags containing some Yankee treats and I just thought I would share the treats that I got in mine!!
